Tuan Malinowski is a New York—based choreographer and director, reclaiming the landscape of the American theatre through their lens as a queer, non-binary, Asian American adoptee.

Malinowski choreographed The Drowsy Chaperone in Concert at Carnegie Hall, which featured an all trans and non-binary cast led by Laverne Cox and Jonathan Van Ness, directed by Tony Award—nominee L Morgan Lee. This historic concert presentation will receive a Special Recognition Award at the 37th GLAAD Media Awards. Their work also includes productions at Northern Stage, Weathervane Theatre, and at universities across the country. Malinowski has choreographed for Jay Armstrong Johnson’s I Put A Spell On You, Dance Lab New York’s The Dance Lab Honors, and has premiered work in collaboration with Pace University’s BFA Commercial Dance program. As an associate, Malinowski’s work includes Chay Yew’s re-examination of South Pacific at Goodspeed Musicals, Pittsburgh CLO’s world premiere of Game On, and MISS STEP, a new musical in development with MCC Theater, choreographed by Connor Gallagher and Laganja Estranja.
