Tuan Malinowski is a New York—based director and choreographer, reclaiming the landscape of the American theatre through their lens as a queer, non-binary, Asian American adoptee.

Malinowski choreographed The Drowsy Chaperone in Concert at Carnegie Hall, featuring an all trans and non-binary cast led by Laverne Cox and Jonathan Van Ness, directed by Tony Award—nominee L Morgan Lee. This historic presentation received a Special Recognition Award at the 37th GLAAD Media Awards. Their work spans regional theatres and universities across the country, and also includes choreographing for Jay Armstrong Johnson’s I Put A Spell On You and Pace University’s BFA Commercial Dance program, guest teaching for Steps on Broadway’s Celebrating AAPI Heritage Month series, and serving as program manager for Dance Lab New York’s Broadway Choreography Intensive. As an associate/assistant, Malinowski’s work includes the upcoming 2027 Broadway revival of The Full Monty at Roundabout Theatre Company, directed by Leigh Silverman and choreographed by Connor Gallagher, Chay Yew’s re-examination of South Pacific at Goodspeed Musicals, and MISS STEP, premiering in 2027 at Playwrights Horizons, co-choreographed by Connor Gallagher and Laganja Estranja.
